Seattle Criminal Attorney | 5 Goals for 2010
Another year is closing out, and we’ve got a lot to be happy for. We’ve been able to help a lot of people work their way through various criminal charges, from hit and run to forgery to DUI to driving while license suspended, and I think all of our clients would say they were happy with the service they received. As a Seattle criminal attorney, sometimes that’s better than anything else.
Because I want to be like everyone else, I’m going to leave 2009 with a post about goals and dreams for 2010. These aren’t all of my goals – just the ones that pertain to the criminal attorneys Seattle, and all that entails. This will be fun because I’ll be able to revisit and see how many of these goals I accomplished.
1. Never back down to a prosecutor because I’m afraid of moving forward (i.e. it will take me out of my comfort zone).2. Never take a client that I don’t like or that I am sure won’t appreciate the value and service I will provide.
3. Work every day on becoming a better criminal lawyer, including by mentoring and being mentored, reading up on techniques and practices, and preparing each case to the best of my ability.
4. Take at least one pro bono case.
5. Become more involved in the Washington Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys.
Those are some pretty good goals, if I do say so myself. The key to reaching these goals, as is the key for reaching any goal, is to break them down into parts that can be achieved one step at a time, ultimately reaching the final goal. I’m going to spend the weekend breaking down these goals and then calendering those steps to give me a chance at reaching them.
What are your goals for 2010? What is important for you? What is important for helping others?
Here’s to hoping 2010 is the best year of your life. I’m sure it will be mine.
